Vail Health is searching for an experienced ICU Charge Nurse

President & CEO of Vail Health Talks About the Opportunities Offered

About the Position

A Charge Nurse for the ICU at Vail Health is responsible for supervising and offering support to the nursing team within the unit. You will aid the ICU in maintaining a high level of patient care by directing patient admission, discharge, and overall flow with the Intensive Care Unit. In addition to overseeing patient care, the Charge Nurse will also be responsible for completing various administrative tasks related to managing, supervising, and assisting the nursing staff. Although you primarily oversee the nursing staff within the ICU, you will also treat a limited number of patients that have been affected by trauma, organ failure, accidents, acute illness, or invasive surgery as needed.

The New Intensive Care Unit

The completion of this project is a milestone in the hospital's Master Facility Plan which began in August 2015 with the goal of making Eagle County a center of medical excellence in the region and improving the healthcare available to the community and its guests.

The renovation provides five brand new state-of-the-art ICU patient rooms that have been designed with patient-centered care and safety as a priority. To this end the rooms are positioned directly off of a centralized nurse station. In addition the new space provides more efficient work areas for VVMC's entire care team including space for medication preparation and quick access to medical supplies.
